Minnesota's nonprofit organizations including the NACE Foodshelf are asking you to give to your favorite charities at www.GiveMN.org during the fifth annual "Give to the Max Day" on November 14. The idea is to raise much money as possible for nonprofit organizations in 24 hours (midnight on November 14 to midnight on November 15).
The North Anoka County Emergency Food Shelf and Clothing Closet (NACE) is part of "Give to the Max Day" and we encourage everyone to support the families in need in our community by making a donation on November 14 through the GiveMN program. GiveMN has raised more than $33 million for more than 5,000 nonprofits since its 2009 debut. Last year's "Give to the Max Day" drew more than 53,000 donors. As a result, $16.3 million was raised for the participating nonprofit organizations. Last year NACE received $1498 in online donations. We can accept donations at the food shelf as well on November 14. While those numbers don’t count towards the leaderboards or Golden tickets, the money is used to purchase food for families in need.
GiveMN offers several incentives to encourage nonprofit organizations and donor participation in "Give to the Max Day." There are four leaderboard categories, hourly golden tickets and power hours. Golden Tickets are hourly drawings that add $1,000 to a person’s donation, randomly selected from donors who gave during each hour of the event.
This is a great time to make a special donation to NACE and to support the hungry in our community with a chance to win additional money throughout the Give to the Max Day event! Just go to www.nacefoodshelf.org and click on the Donate Now button on November 14 to make your donation. It’s easy to do and just $10 gives NACE the buying power to feed a family.
